Using Integrated Pest Management

We’re always worked with scientists to test and develop new integrated pest management techniques.

  • We have nearly eliminated the use of organophosphate pesticides, which are extremely hazardous to workers, livestock and wildlife.
  • We collaborate with the Mid-Columbia Agricultural Research and Extension Center to test alternative pest control techniques such as codling moth mating disruption, a technique where female mating pheromone is released into the orchard at concentrations high enough to confuse males in their search for females.
